Precision-machined brass insert threaded fitting for a durable metal-to-CPVC transition; Corrosion-resistant brass threads maintain a tight seal at metal fixture connections; CPVC solvent-weld end bonds directly into the Supreme Lifeline pipe network; Designed for connecting taps, valves and other threaded metal fixtures to CPVC pipework.
The Female Threaded Elbow (Brass) is a brass-insert 90-degree elbow fitting with an internal (female) thread outlet from the Supreme Lifeline C-PVC Hot & Cold Water System, combining a solvent-weld CPVC body with a corrosion-resistant brass threaded insert. It provides a strong, leak-resistant transition point between CPVC pipework and metal fixtures such as taps, valves, geysers and mixers, and is suited to both hot and cold water lines.
• Q: Why use a brass-threaded fitting instead of an all-CPVC one?
A: Repeated tightening and loosening at fixture connections (taps, valves, geysers) can wear plastic threads over time. A brass insert gives a more durable, wear-resistant thread at these high-stress connection points.
• Q: How is the CPVC end joined to the pipe?
A: The plain CPVC end is joined to the pipe using solvent cement in the usual way, while the brass end is threaded (BSP/NPT as applicable) onto the fixture or valve.
• Q: Should thread sealant be used on the brass end?
A: Yes, applying PTFE thread seal tape or a compatible thread sealant to the brass threads is recommended to ensure a leak-free connection at the fixture.
